A monday. After the long break of CNY. woke up at 7am today, the sun was a little late to rise today. cycled to office, left the house at 7.50, and arrived at office at 8.30am. good time, used the new helmet S gave. nice, a snug fit for my head, it has a funny motto. no brain no game. started the day by look at PRP, and decided to try pin down the overbudget. and to my horror was that, in order to meet the actual budget after all the professional fees were taken out, almost 50% of the proposed designs had to be taken out. Including my favourite parts of the trellis deck and the outdoor activity space. Really this forces one to be zen, the pleasure has to be maximally extracted at the point of design, at presentation, because sometimes, that is as far as the life of the space goes. did that till lunch, and sent out an email questioning the percentage of the PM fee. Lunch was delicious, i really enjoy having the pigs kidney with the bak kut teh. Afternnoon was spent working on some details for the bukit batok bridge, and the material concept for the central mall. somehow the pictures didnt seem to sit comfortably together. so i spent after what it felt like a long time, and finally arrive at an uneasy family fit of images. but i guess the more time is spent on it, the better the images would come together. when i left the office, the sun was still setting, it was a heart-warming feeling. as i remember that time when i saw the sun still setting from club street, there was such an amazement to see it. i see many twinkling car lights in the distance. like little jewels far out in the ocean. yesterday i pen out a gamification of the task to be done, and it seem to be coming along quite nicely.
