A tuesday, 4th week of January. jan has 5 weeks!?
Woke up at 7.30am, got to work at 9.15. Started on the DC calculation,had a discussion on the final results w TY. what can be confusing is that DC payable = DC ceiling - DC baseline - DC exemption. The exemption is based on the 1958 & 1980s EPR (equivalent plot ratio) , however the SHB ( safeguarded historical baseline) is not the used baseline, as it needs to compared with the 2003 and latest approved GFA. using the right rates and use groups types are important too. After that worked on the jpeg to update a small part of the sketch. Lunch time was at the dollar return hawker stall. Had a big bowl of $5 kway teow teng. Learnt a new cad skill today called the rename with wild card. the task was basically to rename the surveyor's layers with the prefix SVY, and instead of doing all 243 layers one at a time, basically the rename tool allows one to select all and rename with a *. That was pretty neat. and then in the afternoon, called S. and talking to him, negotiating to get a date for the next milestone was like a chasing a snake around a bush, or trying to catch a slippery eel. After a discussion w S, he highlighted some points that would be useful in this discussion.1. within 3 months to get the vote count, otherwise, waiver needed, and even so, exact time is needed. Validity period of topo-survey is for 2 years, upon expiring, will cost another $20,000 to re-validate. Will need to followup on this at the end of the week. the add one lift (AOL) project has kicked off as well. One of the oldest madrasah s in sg, and scope of work is add one lift and feasibility study for the rest. it will be fun to sketch over the floorplan lines. I can't help but wonder to myself, the validity of the BOA question of insufficient design skill, in the real world, design is about understanding patterns? about how quick you are in photoshopping? Or just about having gone through the process to be familiar enough to manage expectations?

of course 50% of it is probably the photographer. but the proportions and the details are really gorgeous. I can't believe i made a linkway picture my desktop picture. Must be all these linkways drawing that i have been doing.
